Type of art you can find in Vorontsovskiy Palace:
Vorontsovskiy Palace is one of the splendid St-Petersburg's palaces. It was built in 1757 by Bartholomew Francesco Rastrelli for Prime Minister M. I. Vorontsov.
Nowadays there is Suvorov's Naval Academy and it is very close to Gostiny Dvor (shopping arcade).
DetailsThe palace has an elegant and chic decoration of the facade and splendid interiors. It has more than 50 staterooms and halls.
Vorontsovsky Palace is decorated by molding, gilded carving and other elements of the Baroque style. The construction and decoration of the palace took big investments and count Vorontsov had to give it to Russian Treasury.
When Paul I had become an Emperor, the palace was given to the Malthusian Order for a short period of time. When the Emperor was killed, the building hosted the Page Corps (1810).
