High-speed rail from Helsinki
High-speed train named Allegro stops on the same stations as the old trains before - in Vyborg (Russia), Vainikkala, Kouvola, Lahti, Tikkurila and Pasila.
Allegro has 2 departures per day from Helsinki and St. Petersburg. By summer 2011 the number of daily two-way Allegro services will increase from two to four: early morning and an evening departures.
Passport and customs controls are conducted aboard the moving train and the authorities start inspections already after the train's departure from Helsinki or St. Petersburg.
Lowest fare now is €63.50 for Helsinki-Petersburg if you are going as a group of minimum 6 adults.
Helsinki and Petersburg are closer to each other than ever before. The onboard services were designed equally for business travellers and families taking a city break.
